We are thrilled to announce the publication of our latest research article, carried out by scientists from various institutions, coordinated by the Water Harvesting Lab – UNIFI and the Navarino Environmental Observatory: The potential of novel remote sensing evapotranspiration data and global soil maps for SWAT+ agro-hydrological modeling in data-scarce regions of the North Mediterranean. This study explores the integration of multiple remote-sensing evapotranspiration (RS-ET) products to enhance the calibration and performance of the SWAT+ hydrological model. Notably, the research demonstrates that combining crop statistics with irrigation schedule data significantly improves both actual evapotranspiration (AET) estimates and overall water-balance accuracy (read the article here https://www.sciencedirect.com/…/pii/S0378377425004755 ).
